Our Experience

Over the last decade and a half, noodleStream.com has deployed over 450 environmental, occupational health and safety training solutions.  Projects have ranged in size from three thousand to three million dollars.  The following is a sampling of some of these deployments.

 2008 | United Engines Corporation

United Engines (UE) has a proud 50-year history of serving their customers with world-class support of their Detroit Diesel and Allison equipped products.  Their products are used in myriad industrial, construction and automotive applications.  Today United Engines has fourteen locations distributed in 5 states.  Their growth had made it difficult and expensive to ensure that their valued employees received the intensive-level of safety training United Engines demanded.

To meet this challenge, noodleStream performed the necessary job hazard and training needs analysis; and deployed 32 web-based, e-learning courses ranging in topics from OSHA's Hazard Communication to Confined Space Entry.  The targeted, need-specific training solution was created by combining custom content with content from the SafetySkills™ compendium.  The training is deployed on a UE-branded, SafetySkills Learning Center™

2007 | US Army in Europe

The US Army in Europe has five strategic goals: to win the war on terrorism; to set an expeditionary stance; to build tomorrow's leaders; to build tomorrow's coalitions; and to keep the Seventh Army a great location for Soldiers and Families.  Part of securing these goals is to ensure that US military operations in Europe comply with all of the host nation environmental, health and safety requirements of the different countries in which it operates.  To accomplish this the Army trains and deploys "Environmental Compliance Officers" to ensure that units stay in compliance.  These personnel must have knowledge of not only US Army EHS policies, but of those laws and regulations specific to Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively.  This challenge is compounded by the fact that these individuals are rarely in the position for more than a year.

To meet this challenge, the noodleStream team designed, developed and deployed a comprehensive, rich-media, web-based training solution intended for US Army Environmental Compliance Officers and host-nation contractors.  The e-learning content is based on specific, host-nation environmental, health and safety requirements for Belguim, Germany, Italy and The Netherlands.  The e-learning solution incorporated a novel coding approach which delivers specific learning objects based on student characterizations (e.g., host-nation, language).  Over 32 hours of e-learning content was created narrated in multiple languages.

2006 | US Coast Guard - Atlantic

As the United States's oldest continuous seagoing service, The US Coast Guard has a broad and important role in homeland security, law enforcement, search and rescue, and environmental response.  Having a primary role in maritime safety and environmental enforcement, it is critical that Coast Guard personnel maitain a high level of EHS competency.  Therefore, personnel assigned EHS roles must receive intensive training in current regulatory and technological issues relevant to Coast Guard operations.  Because the over 50,000 active duty and civilian employees are distributed to over a hundred bases, air and small boat stations, getting these individuals the necessary training in an effective and timley manner is a significant challenge.

To meet the challenge the noodleStream team assisted in the design, development and deployment of a synchronous, web-based EHS training program geared to provide designated US Coast Guard Hazardous Waste Coordinators with the skills necessary to do their jobs.  The training utilizes a non-proprietary learning management system which allows human instructors to interact with students regardless of location (some of whom are aboard cutters in the North Atlantic).

2005 | Benchmark Insurance Corporation

A leading provider of worker's compensation insurance products for the retail grocery industry, Benchmark wanted to enhance its loss-prevention services by offering its customers' employees effective health and safety training to avoid identified risks.   With over 3500 policy-holders representing over twenty-thousand employees many of whom worked at small, rural grocery stores, getting these employees effective, meaningful training was daunting.

The noodleStream team designed, developed and deployed a web-based occupational health and safety training platform specifically designed to address competency requirements as determined by empirical loss data provided by the Benchmark.   After the first year of deployment, Benchmark reported a reduction in loss-ratio by over 24 percent.  White paper available on request.

 2004 | USAF  Korea

The US Army Air Corps first activated the 7 AF in Hawaii in 1940 and was the first to fight on December 7th, 1941.  In 1986, the 7th activated in Korea and has been an integral part in deterring active agression from North Korea.   As part of agreements with the host nation, US operations must comply with Korea's unique environmenyal regulations, as well as specific USAF EHS policies.  The challenge of provding adequate training was increased by the rapid rotation of personnel and the fact that many support personnel and installation contractors who required the training understood very little English.

The noodleStream team designed, developed and deployed interactive, e-learning solution based on Korean environmental requirements, as well as US Air Force policy.  The courses included Asbestos Program Management; Hazardous Waste Management; and Pollution Prevention Programming.  The applications were designed to allow the student to choose between taking the training in either English or Korean languages.
